Charging – what, where and how
- Eleport – The main charging station for J, right by her work, priced at 1.99 PLN per kWh (AC). A simple app running on the same engine as Elocity. Not many chargers, but the location is key for us.
- Elocity – A wide network of chargers, both AC and DC. It covers the chargers at Lidl stores, Ekoen, Powerdot (e.g. next to Biedronka, a Polish supermarket chain), Budimex, no subscriptions, prices vary.
- FreshMile - a French app, but it brings the price at Allego chargers down to about 2-2.20 PLN (the price depends on both time and energy, so the slower the charging, the more expensive it gets), and the only fast (150kW) charger around here is exactly an Allego one. The downside is that you have to keep a 50 euro balance in the app to start a charging session.
Occasional use
- Supercharger – Rarely used, because it's usually not on our way. No app needed – you just plug in and charging starts. Prices from 0.80 PLN per kWh (DC) off-peak and 1.60 PLN per kWh at peak. Ideal for charging a Tesla - generally always on a road trip. Period, there's currently no cheaper charger for a Tesla, the price is lower than at a lot of the so-called slow chargers. It's under occasional because... we haven't been doing many road trips lately. In Warsaw there are 2 (+1 that's not usable), by the showroom in Ząbki and by the exit onto the A2/S7/S8.
- Ionity – We sometimes use Ionity chargers along routes, there aren't many of them but they're well located (Ostróda on the way to the seaside, Radomsko on the way to the mountains, just outside Łódź for... Łódź), the subscription is expensive, the price without a subscription is high, but in general I prefer it to GreenWay, mainly because the Tesla pulls 190 kW. The stations don't share power, which is key on road trips
- GreenWay – They've generally changed their subscription terms and it's less worthwhile now, expensive without a subscription, with the 30 PLN subscription (at least 1 calendar month has to be paid for) it's 2.40, with the 80 PLN subscription - 2.10. Ionity with the 28.50 subscription costs 2.50, but with the 51.50 subscription the price is 2.05. I don't have any GW chargers in my area, so realistically zero use.
- Orlen – prices out of this world, unless there's a promotion, and when there is one it's actually worth it. The app is on standby just in case.
Removed:
- PolEnergia, Ekoen, EV+, Equay - all of them are now part of Elocity
- Electroverse - I never used it, so we got rid of it
