… something broke.

I ordered a spoiler, and along the way a mysterious service message popped up… If only I'd known what it meant! I had no idea that [EMEA] OWO – internal short AP4 car computer - something like that, is nothing "good". Undeterred, I updated the software. After all, as an experienced software tester, what could possibly go wrong? And then the cameras stopped working. It looks like this OWO is some kind of recall, because plenty of people online have the same problem. So now I'm driving without cameras.

Parking without sensors and cameras in a car with poor rear visibility? Tough, but I'm managing! Luckily, in the past I've driven such "supercars" as an Escort and a Micra, so parking doesn't scare me.

Still, you get used to comfort fast. Driving on the motorway or an expressway without adaptive cruise control? Doable, but... technology really makes life easier.

Apart from that, we're using less and less energy, which means we're driving more and more efficiently. We also tried a Supercharger – Tesla doesn't lie. From 11% to 80%, from the moment I parked at the charger to driving off, took 32.5 minutes. Not bad! And Supercharger prices are pretty reasonable, although the charging curve really is so-so. On a trip it pays best to charge from 10% to 50% – maybe it's better to make more, shorter stops.

In a few weeks I'm planning a trip to Wrocław and back. I'll try both charging approaches, though it might be tricky around 1 November. We'll see.

Results since the last blog post:

433 km driven, 66 kWh used, an average of 15.3 kWh/100 km.

Oh, and as I write this, we've already passed 2001 km – just like in "A Space Odyssey"!

Fun fact: I often charge the car overnight after trips. In Mińsk the price is 2.39 PLN/kWh, and the nearest Supercharger is about 45 km away. It turns out that below 45% charge, it's cheaper to drive to the SC and charge for 1.8 PLN/kWh, assuming I add an extra 12% to cover the drive back. And since I like evening drives, next time I'll have to make a trip to the SC :)

And we're finally changing the playlist. We made the last one for a trip to Budapest – back in May, I think! Since then it's kept us company for some 15,000 kilometres :)
